A powerful 8.7 magnitude earthquake hits off the west coast of Indonesia's Sumatra Island, a little more than 100 miles south of the Dec. 26 earthquake that sparked a tsunami and killed more than 174,000 people. The closest island to the Monday quake's epicenter, Nias, is reporting many casualties, but no hard numbers have been confirmed. Hear Times of London reporter Tim Johnston, who reports that the affected region seems to have escaped a feared second tsunami.
