A Senate committee unanimously approved a bill on Tuesday that would require physicians, certified advanced registered nurse midwives and licensed midwives to report to the state “adverse” medical incidents that occur during planned births outside of hospitals.

A Senate committee Tuesday approved a proposal that supporters hope will help address longstanding shortages of dental care in some areas of Florida.

A Florida Senate committee is working to put an end to unlicensed assisted living facilities, many of which kept elderly and disabled people in deplorable conditions.  Many of the unlicensed ALFs have “billed themselves as shelters, rooming houses or ‘sober homes’” to avoid inspection, according to the Miami Herald.
