The state Agency for Health Care Administration has ordered a Pasco County assisted-living facility for young, disabled adults to close, two years after shutting off its Medicaid payments ended, the Miami Heraldreports. Hillandale Assisted Living Facility was featured in a 2011 Herald investigation that uncovered abuse at ALFs around the state.
Since that series was published, some lawmakers have been trying to strengthen oversight of ALFs. But the latest attempt this year is stuck in a Florida House committee, the Times/HeraldTallahassee Bureau reports.
