Rare Brain Disorder Suspected in Rampage

A soldier who threw a Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputy around may have been afflicted with “excited delirium,” a rare brain disorder.  It took at least six officers and two sets of handcuffs to hold Stephen D. Hauss, who was exhibiting “superhuman strength,” according to the Palm Beach Post.

Originally founded in December 2006 as an independent grassroots publication dedicated to coverage of health issues in Florida, Health News Florida was acquired by WUSF Public Media in September 2012.
