Cancer, MS May Qualify for Pot Extract

A medical marijuana bill originally targeting children with debilitating seizures has been expanded to include other ailments. Final language in the expanded “Charlotte’s Web” bill would add people with cancer, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and other diseases to the list of ailments that qualify for the form of medical marijuana, according to the Orlando Sentinel.  The bill is awaiting Gov. Rick Scott’s signature.  Scott said he would approve the bill.

Originally founded in December 2006 as an independent grassroots publication dedicated to coverage of health issues in Florida, Health News Florida was acquired by WUSF Public Media in September 2012.
